What does America mean how is it constructed? These works investigate the dichotomy of an America that is ubiquitously, even oppressively, present internationally through commodities, media, and language borrowings and an America that, for many, is completely inaccessible due to Homeland Security policies and prohibitive travel costs. Therefore, the U.S. exists as a push-pull between a somewhere-America that is impossibly far away and an anywhere-America that is locally produced and performed.
